Welcome to the Adirondack Board of Education!
The Board of Education is comprised of seven members elected by district residents at the annual election and budget vote held each spring. Board members serve without pay for staggered three-year terms.
Under the Education Law of New York State, the Board of Education is responsible for establishing policies which govern the education of all children attending district schools; for preparing the annual budget; and for ensuring district adherence to state law and regulations. As Chief School Officer, the Superintendent of Schools is charged with seeing that School Board polices are carried out.
Unless otherwise announced, regular meetings of the Adirondack Central School Board of Education are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the large instruction room at the high school. During the budget season, January to May, an additional Board meeting is held the fourth Tuesday of each month. Specials meetings are held on an as-needed basis. Residents are encouraged to attend these meetings.
