Adirondack's Sphero Global Challenge Winners!

The Adirondack STEAM Program is thrilled to announce outstanding achievements of their students in the Sphero Global Challenge.  This is the fourth season of the Sphero Global Challenge, hailed as the ultimate STEM competition. This event, providing students with an unparalleled opportunity to delve deeper into computational thinking, engineering, and programming skills featured over 300 teams of middle school and elementary students spanning 7 countries.  Sponsored by the renowned Sphero Robotics company and STEM It Up Sports, the competition challenges participants to design, program, and navigate their robots through a series of missions and obstacles. It serves as a platform for students to showcase their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork—all essential components of success in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).

The ACS RobotCats have once again showcased their exceptional coding and engineering skills, with the Omega Squad securing a fourth place and the Delta Squad capturing the World Championship!  This remarkable feat marks the second consecutive year that a team from Adirondack has emerged victorious in this competition, underscoring the school's commitment to excellence in STEAM education and the dedication of their students.

The championship members of the Delta Squad include Drew Weber, Logan Peters, Natalie Croneiser, Laura Miller, and Scout Charbonneau, whose exemplary teamwork and innovative spirit propelled them to the top spot. Meanwhile, the accomplished members of the Omega Squad, Makayla Ward, Gavin Grower, Macy Hutchins, Jonah Sturtevant, Linkin Lampman, and Cary Miller, demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition.

The Adirondack STEAM Program extends its heartfelt gratitude to Superintendent Kristy McGrath, Director of Curriculum and Technology Michael Faustino, High School Principal Heidi Smith, Middle School Principal Brandie Collins, STEAM Teacher Justin Wiedrick, and the Adirondack Board of Education for their unwavering support and encouragement. Their dedication to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence has been instrumental in empowering students to reach new heights of achievement.
